Bun Bo Hue An Nam Vietnamese Restaurante in San Jose

They originally messed up our order as they didn't speak English that well, but they made every attempt to correct it. They were very nice as well, unlike other Pho places I have been to. Food was excellent - I will definitely come here again.

As I remember, there are really only 2 things served here. 1 is Bun Bo Hue, 2 is Pho. Most people, including me, come here for their Bun Bo Hue. Pho is for the people who tag along and can't take the exotic ingredients and/or the pungent flavor in the former.But the Bun Bo Hue is some of the best in the South Bay.

The ingredients are make the bun bo hue the best. Not the spiciest thing but it is worth the price.

I don't like MSG (bot ngot, mi chinh, vi tinh) hence 3 stars

I prefer the original BBH An Nam location off Story Rd. wayyyyy more than this place. I was disappointed in all the dishes I had, except for an appetizer. The Banh Bot Loc was real good, and the only thing I would come back for.

The bun rieu is terrific. Full of snails and flavor!

The one on Story Road was closed so decided to come here instead. Their soup is more on the spicier and saltier than what I prefer.Their $10.50 (their small bowl is $9.50) for their Bun Bo Hue was huge and they don't short change you on the condiments either. Oh and it's cash only... the only saving grace is they do have an ATM machine that collects a $2.50 for using it..

Ate here twice for lunch and once for breakfast while working on a marketing project in the local area for Vietnamese New Years Festival. The Owner and people were gracious and great to our group. The food is delirious "hens the 3 times". Next time in San Jose,Bun Bo Hue is a must stop.

vietnamese food at this location - super good. I give this place double thumbs up. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. This place has a nice atmosphere. Feeling here is similar to a place in Columbus I liked.

It doesn't taste as good as it was 3 yrs ago. I hope for some improvement.

The food was delicious at the beginning, but when I finished, I felt tired and my belly hurt, EVERY SINGLE TIME I ATE THERE. Too much GMO?

To be honest the bun bo hue was far away to be bun bo hue. Was no good and me and my gf get stomach pain about this.. I prefer the bun bo hue an nam 1. Really yummy

When I arrived, I noticed a strong smell of mắm, a pungent shrimp paste necessary for cooking Bún Bò Huế. The waitress informed me the restaurant was recovering from a 2-hour power outage. The waitress was polite & efficient. The Bún Bò Huế was pretty good. The broth is savory. The only drawback was the beef which was a bit chewy. I may consider returning to this restaurant to try out other dishes.

The food is authentic and really tasty. We had Bun Bo Hue and Pho. Both are much better than most other places. The freshly squeezed suger cane juice is so refreshing. The atmosphere is quite nice. It was a surprise discover. We will definitely come back over and over again if things don't change.

I've only had their bun bo hue here and I think it's okay. They give a decent amount of meat. I always feel like the flavor isn't on point for me.. not as much of a meaty beef flavor as when I make it at home. But this is a good place for when I want bbh and don't wanna cook. My mom is a fan of this place though. She only gets their bbh here too. She said sometimes their bbh is really good and other times tastes a little watered down. To each their own.

Rude waiter, there was a bug on my soup. I used to like coming here but now NEVER EVER coming back.

for SJ, this is the second place for what Bun Bo Hue (BBH) should be. First is the original place. This place have consistency issues and so the BBH is not away the best.
